The regional party operates through seven committees. The functions of the committee are set out in the East of England Liberal Democrats constitution.
Management Committee
Management committee comprises the officers of the region and the chairs of the committee listed below.
Campaigns Committee
The Campaigns Committee stimulates and supports campaigning in the region. It comprises two members elected by Liberal Democrat members, two members appointed by the executive committee, one member elected by Parliamentarians and up to two additional members co-opted by the Campaigns Committee.
Candidates Committee
The Candidates Committee exercises the region's powers and duties in relation to the approval and selection of candidates for parliamentary and other major elections. The committee comprises the Chair of the Candidates Committee, four members elected by Liberal Democrat members in the East of England and two members appointed by the executive committee.
Conference Committee
The Conference Committee is responsible for organising regional conference and the selection of motions and reports for debate. The committee comprises four members elected by Liberal Democrat members, two members appointed by the executive committee, one member elected by and from the Policy Committee, one member elected by and from the Executive of the Local Party within whose boundaries the next planned Conference is due to take place and up to two members co-opted by the committee.
Development and Membership Engagement Committee
The committee is responsible for: encouraging local parties to increase membership,
assisting local parties to become more active and effective: stimulating the engagement of members with party activity and and supporting the training and personal development of party members and those undertaking party functions. It comprises two members elected by Liberal Democrat members in the East of England, two members appointed by the executive committee and up to two additional members co-opted by the committee.
Local Parties and Council Groups Committee
The committee exercises the region's powers and duties in relation to the adherence of local parties and council groups to the party constitution. The committee comprises six members appointed by and from the executive committee (including at least one officer and at least one member of a principal local authority) and a representative of each County Co-ordinating Committee.
Policy Committee
The policy committee encourages discussion and adoption of policy relating to the East of England. It comprises four members elected by Liberal Democrat members in the East of England and two members appointed by the executive committee.
